Life is too short to live someone else’s dream and I was tired of the corporate life. Sitting in an office or a cubicle, updating spreadsheets and PowerPoint presentations. I was taking on challenges, solving problems, making a difference, and running multi-million dollar per year products. But I was tired of working long hours which often included part or all of Saturdays and Sundays. I was tired of the politics, constantly trying to please some new leader, and the constant “emergency” to get the next item done.

Time to Leave

I asked myself what I would love to do. I had always wanted to learn to fly airplanes. I dug into the details and found out that I not only could learn but could turn my passion into a part time job for retirement.

So I “retired”, left home for flight school, and dedicated everything to becoming a pilot.

I finished my certifications in ~7 months.

• Private Pilot (PPL)

• Instrument Rating (IRA)

• Commercial Pilot (CSEL)

• Certified Flight Instructor (CFI)

• Certified Flight Instructor (CFII)

• Commercial Multi-Engine (CMEL)

• Multi-Engine Instructor (MEI - In Progress and scheduled for early Feb 2025)

Now I’m living my dream of flying, teaching others to fly, buying my own airplane, and having a flexible schedule to work when and where I want.
